Capital Improvement Grant Proposals

In November at the Festival of Neighbourhoods, Cherry Park Neighbourhood Association won one of the Capital Improvement Grants of $20,000.

We gathered ideas from the community until January 12th, then our Ideas Committee met and reduced the list to the best ten.  We distributed a flyer to every household in our neighbourhood for you to vote on what you felt were the best 3 ideas.  We got replies from 151 people.  Thank you to everyone who responded.
The top three ideas were:
- A full walking loop around the inside perimeter of Cherry Park;
- Outdoor adult exercise/activity equipment in our community; and
- An asphalt pad in Cherry Park for a skating rink and other sports.

We are now working on these three ideas with the City and developing them into concrete proposals with budgets for you to work on at our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, March 13th, 7 PM in Calvary United Church (91 Gruhn St).

At our AGM on March 13th, we voted to go ahead with the Outdoor exercise equipment as our Capital Improvement Grant project.  It will be located along the Iron Horse Trail by Gildner Green Park.

We now need a project group to work with the City to bring this idea to completion.  If you would like to be on this group, please contact us as soon as possible.
